Mel Trotter “Code Blue” Drive: For Thanksgiving we will be participating in the Mel Trotter “Code Blue” Drive. “Code Blue” is a term used at Mel Trotter Ministries when freezing and extreme temperatures threaten the lives of those who are experiencing homelessness. They are preparing once again to save lives from the bitter cold. To help we are collecting new and gently used winter clothing. Winter weather items (new or gently used) needed: waterproof winter boots (men’s sizes 8-11, women’s sizes 6.5-8.5), waterproof winter gloves, hats, wool or fleece socks, and underwear (men’s and women’s sizes M-2XL). Please bring your donations by next week Sunday, November 17.
We have the privilege of being involved with Operation Christmas Child again this year. Operation Christmas Child spreads the Good News of the Gospel by packing shoe boxes and delivering them to children around world. We are hoping to assemble and fill 50 shoe boxes. The boxes are shipped the week of November 18. We will be assembling the shoe boxes sometime in early November. The date will be announced soon. Please consider donating the following items: Dolls, small balls, stuffed animals, fun toys, hygiene items such as soap, combs, wash cloths, toothbrushes, socks, school supplies and coloring books, Bibles, etc. Shoebox gift ideas will be posted on the bulletin board.
